specialising in green oak framed buildings using traditional
construction methods. Typical this comprises massive framed structure
held together with pegs in an A-frame or cruck frame construction
with lightweight infill panels.
Oak framing has seen a revival
in recent years and there are a plethora of companies offering
everything from oak components to and entire building.

- Inantuda -traditional oakwrights based in Harrowgate
who produce handcrafted oak frames and buildings for home, garden
and landscape.
- McMurdy
and Co -craftsmen and
specialists in the repair and conservation of
historic timber framed buildings -they were responsible for the
reconstruction of Shakespeares Globe Theatre in London.

barns and other buildings -they also utilise their offcuts to
make furniture or for smokeries.
