For many people, the biggest
obstacle to building their dream home is the fear of the unknown.
Buildstore's Self Build Courses aim to give first-time self builders
the knowledge and confidence they need to get their projects
going.
 In
the New Year, the National Self Build & Renovation Centre
in Swindon will be running a new Self Build Course here at ,
delivered by renowned author David Snell and Buildstore's Specialist
Self Build Advisor Mike Hardwick.
With 8 modules and covering
the self build process all the way through from budgeting to
overseeing trades, these courses are an the ideal opportunity
for first-time self builders to get an overview of the process,
and gain the knowledge to minimise potential mistakes and delays
The first course will run from
22nd Jan - 8th March, with course two running from 13th March
- 2nd May. You can either sign up to an entire course or pick
and choose from the eight modules available
- Budgeting for Your Project
& Finding Land
- Evaluating Your Plot, Designing
Your Project, Construction Preliminaries
- Planning & Building Regulations
- Self Build Project Management,
Sourcing Materials, Managing Trades
- Construction Technology Parts
1&2 (Practical Sessions giving an overview of Labour Only,
and Supply & Fix trades)
- Building Renovation
- Eco Building
Each module costs £60,
or you can book 4 modules for £180, with each further module
then discounted to £45. Book with a friend or as a couple
and receive 10% off. All prices include lunch, full module notes,
and a full day's expert teaching.
