The HousePlanner is edited
by a small group of UK architects. It started life as a collection
of our own favourite bookmarks. We thought they might be of value
to others, and decided in 2002 to share them as a series of personal
reviews. Since then the site has continued to grow in scope and
usefulness, as evidenced by reader feedback:
"Have just discovered
your website and this must be the MOST USEFUL website I have
come across for real information if you are renovating/building
in a sustainable way great stuff and thank you!!"
"Your site seems to
have refreshing integrity and honesty and I'd like to see it
"I think it is a great
portal for anyone thinking about sustainable design and feel
that there is a need for a lot more places like this."
Alongside a general interest
in building construction, we have always been keen to promote
low energy and environmentally sustainable design. For this reason
we have a dedicated section on sustainability. Further than this,
you will find that prominence is given to ethical companies throughout,
whether through renewable energy systems or green mortgages.
In June 2008 we passed the
milestone of one million visitors to this site and are
now looking ahead to the next million!
