Architectural Salvage:

Secondhand building materials are a really valuable resource, and it is important to encourage the recycling of materials. However please don't support the market in stolen architectural antiques -if you believe you are being offered stolen goods, you could check with the extensive listing at SalvoWeb before parting with your money.

If you are involved in demolition works, or simply removing out of date components, then why not contact a salvage yard. It may simply save you the cost of disposal, but then again you might make something out of it, as well not contributing to landfill waste tips.
