Love The Place You're In is a ten part series for HOME (the
channel formerly known as UKTV Style). It is a show dedicated
to showing homeowners how to literally stamp their personality
onto their private spaces.
With the credit crunch taking
hold and buying property as an investment no longer a popular
option, Love The Place You're In finds out what aspiring
property up-graders are doing instead - staying put and getting
creative tailoring their homes to suit their tastes and lifestyle
demands.
The series features 10 very
different households on a journey to transform their living spaces.
For each household, presenter and professional interior designer
Gordon Whistance will be on hand to offer inspiration,
design advice and support to the homeowners.
But, unlike many previous makeover
programmes, the homeowners will make their own design decisions
and project manage and carry out the transformation.
After careful analysis of the
owners and the way they live, Gordon will come up with a design
idea to suit their needs, style and taste. It is then that they
need to take ownership of the plan and really put it into action
transforming the problem areas of their home.
Gordon will be popping in throughout
each project to keep track of progress and offer expert advice.
He will whisk the homeowners away on an inspiration trip to clarify
the design ideas and take them off shopping for the essentials
that will help them create their look. At the end of the project
the homeowners leave Gordon to put together all the finishing
touches to the newly transformed areas - when they return, we'll
find out if all the hard work has been worth it, and whether
he's succeeded in helping them fall in love with their home again.
Love the Place You're In is a show that follows the personal
journey of people determined to convert their homes into dream
spaces, while still addressing their practical needs.
